Eye Spy

Eye Spy was a body of work commissioned by the Charity “Simon on the Streets” for which Nigel was Artist in residence. It consciously put the viewer centre stage by concentrating on what homeless people see and experience rather than on cliché images of the homeless themselves. Consequently, there are no homeless to be seen in any of the images. This, combined with an uncompromising commitment to hard hitting and uncomfortable image making, the use of found materials and installations resulted in an acclaimed solo exhibition at the Workhouse Modern Gallery in Harrogate (2014) which raised a significant sum (and extensive publicity) for the Charity
